When you need to get items from point A to point B without hassle, courier van and express delivery is one of the most straightforward choices. Björkdahls Åkeri and Transport runs courier services from Uddevalla in Västra Götaland, but also takes longer-distance assignments in Sweden and sometimes across the border depending on need. We have industry experience since 1979, which means we know that what creates security isn’t fancy words but clarity: what is to be picked up, when it should be picked up, where it should be delivered and what conditions apply at loading and unloading. That’s why we use simple booking by phone or email, clear confirmation of the setup and a delivery process where you receive a receipt when the job is done.
Our two courier vans cover both smaller and heavier shipments within the courier‑van format. The smaller van suits deliveries up to 500 kg. The larger van handles deliveries up to 1.3 tons and can take cargo that requires more space — within the courier‑van limits. As a rule of thumb we can often take cargo up to about 2 meters in length and around 6 cubic meters in volume, but what actually fits depends on shape, packaging and how it must be loaded. We don’t have a crane, forklift or tail lift, so if the cargo requires lifting equipment it must be available at the sender or receiver. Those details often decide whether a job flows without waiting time, so we prefer to ask once too often rather than rely on assumptions.
To give a fast price and a realistic timeline we need a few simple details: pickup and delivery address, desired time window, what the cargo is (for example packages, boxes, building materials or other items that can be loaded in a courier van), approximate weight and dimensions, and whether there are stairs, gate codes, loading dock or special rules on site. The price is mainly affected by distance, time and setup. Longer runs are often priced per kilometer, while shorter jobs can be more time‑based. In some cases we use a fixed quote, in others a running rate by agreement. We operate 24/7, but for the quickest answer the phone is usually best during approximate phone hours 09–17. Outside that, email with details is fine — the clearer you are, the faster we can reply.
Safety in transport is also about responsibility. We have a transport permit and work with liability insurance and transport insurance. Exact terms can vary depending on the type of assignment and the value of the cargo, so if you have particularly valuable or sensitive goods it’s important to say so in advance. We focus primarily on the transport itself and normally do not offer white‑glove carrying as standard. That means you should be prepared with carrying help or the right equipment if the cargo needs lifting or carrying over longer distances. If you want a setup that deviates from the standard — for example special proof of delivery, handover to a specific recipient or delivery within a tight time window — we handle that in planning. The goal is always the same: a smooth pickup, a safe journey and a delivery completed without surprises.

We help when time is critical, but the exact pickup time depends on where the vehicle is, where the cargo is and what time window you have. For a quick answer we need pickup, delivery, preferred time and what will be transported. We operate 24/7, and the fastest response is by phone during our hours 09:00–17:00.
We transport what can be loaded in a courier van within weight and space limits. This can be parcels, boxes and other goods that are reasonable to handle in a courier van format. Tell us what it is and send dimensions and weight, and we’ll confirm which vehicle fits and how the job can be set up.
We have two courier vans: up to 500 kg in the smaller one and up to 1.3 tonnes in the larger one. As a guideline, we can often handle cargo up to about 2 metres and around 6 cubic metres, but it depends on shape and packaging. Send dimensions and approximate weight and we’ll give a clear recommendation.
No, we do not have a crane, forklift or tail lift. If the cargo requires lifting equipment, it needs to be available at the sender or recipient. Please mention it in advance if it is heavy or bulky so we can plan pickup and unloading to minimise waiting time.
