Björkdahls Åkeri and Transport runs transport from Sweden to Norway and Denmark when the setup requires it. We are based in Uddevalla in Västra Götaland and take both ad hoc runs and planned assignments for businesses and private individuals. Cross-border transport requires clear planning of pickup, delivery and time windows, and we focus on giving you a simple process with clear confirmations.
To give a fast schedule we need to know where the cargo will be picked up and delivered, when it should run, and approximate weight, dimensions and cargo type. It is also important to mention practical conditions such as gate codes, loading bays or limited access. We run 24/7 by agreement, but for the fastest response phone is best on weekdays around 09-17. Otherwise email works well.
We have two courier vans: a smaller one for deliveries up to 500 kg and a larger one for deliveries up to 1.3 tons. As a rule of thumb we can often handle cargo up to about 2 meters in length and around 6 cubic meters in volume, but shape and packaging determine what fits. We do not have a crane, forklift or tail lift, so any lifting equipment must be available on site.
Price for cross-border transport depends on distance, time and setup. We can provide a quote or run by agreement depending on the job. We have traffic permits and work with liability insurance and transport insurance. If you transport particularly valuable or sensitive cargo, it is important to tell us in advance so we can plan responsibility and handling. Send details about your run, and we'll return with a clear proposal.
